But it has now been covered by a Hawaii-born, Lawrence, Kansas-based one-woman-band who goes Kawehi. And what she manages to do with the song (and one large bottle of red wine, apparently) is nuanced and big and, hey, not trite, overdone or insincere. It is a little too EDM-ish at moments (why do all of these songs have 90 seconds of Enya at the start? Discuss.) but it’s an admirable effort. No eye rolling.
